Two households, both alike in dignity. One timeless love story. The National Production Company brings Shakespeare's most celebrated tragedy to life with a company of exceptional talent.
From the sun-drenched streets of Verona to the darkened tomb where passion meets its inevitable end, our cast breathes new life into the Bard's most quotable play. With fight choreography that showcases the deadly beauty of Italian swordsmanship and performances that promise to break your heart, this is Romeo and Juliet as it should be: visceral, romantic, and utterly unforgettable.
Meet the Romeo and Juliet cast bringing these star-crossed lovers to your stage:

Italia Conti-trained and National Youth Theatre alumna, Ruby has conquered everything from Titania at Hay Festival to Lady Macbeth on tour. Her screen work includes the 2025 feature High Wire, whilst her voice has graced Channel 4 promos and Dylan Thomas's Under Milk Wood alongside Game of Thrones' Iwan Rheon. When she's not performing, she's advocating for Type 1 diabetes awareness and captivating 2 million people on TikTok. Her Juliet promises passion, intelligence, and star quality in equal measure.

East 15-trained Joshua brings both classical credentials and contemporary edge to Verona's lovelorn hero. His stage work ranges from A Midsummer Night's Dream to Phantom of the Opera with Tread The Boards, whilst his film work earned him Best Supporting Actor at the New Jersey Film Awards. He's also an accomplished writer whose plays have garnered four and five-star reviews at Camden Fringe and 53two. He returns to NPC after a memorable turn as Horatio in last year's Hamlet.

Zack is a proud Yorkshireman and an experienced stage actor having trained at Cumbria Institute of the Arts. His credits include Me and My Girl and 1984. Zack also works as a senior stage crew member at the Royal Shakespeare Company.

A director and producer at National Production Company, James’ recent credits read like a greatest hits of British theatre: Macbeth, Midsummer Night's Dream, Sweeney Todd, Henry V, Othello. Whether with NPC, Birmingham Stage Company, Tread The Boards, or Blue Orange Theatre, James brings gravitas, warmth, and impeccable timing to every role. His Friar Lawrence will be the moral centre this tragedy desperately needs.

A powerhouse of versatility, Vicky seamlessly moves between musical theatre, session singing, voiceover work, and live performance management. Her ability to command a room, whether through song, speech, or sheer presence, makes her the perfect choice for the Nurse, Shakespeare's most gloriously earthy creation.

After a packed 2025 season, Samuel returns to NPC to embrace his villain era as the Prince of Cats himself. With over a decade in the industry, he's become NPC's go-to fight choreographer, and for this production he's drilled the cast in the flashy technicalities of Italian swordsmanship. His extensive credits span Macbeth, Jekyll & Hyde, and numerous films including Transformers: The Last Knight. Expect swordplay that's as beautiful as it is brutal.

Liz is a seasoned creative, who loves to play whether performing, producing, writing, and directing. Over the last couple of years she has worked on national theatre tours, international performance engagements, historical re-enactment tournaments, educational projects, large-scale events, and produced a couple of midscale theatre shows and arts festivals. She is looking forward to playing Benvolio after her turn as Lady Macbeth last year.

Nicola's journey with Romeo and Juliet began at age eight, staging the tragedy with an ensemble of stuffed animals. That early performance ignited a lifelong devotion to Shakespeare that has seen her grace stages from London to the provinces. With Green Girl Productions and Illyria Theatre under her belt, she's brought formidable intelligence to roles including Rosalind, Beatrice, and most recently Gertrude in NPC's acclaimed Hamlet. Her Lady Capulet promises to be just as compelling, blending authority with cunning ambition.

A London College of Music graduate, Tom recently dazzled in Macbeth and The Pink Panther Strikes Again before making his directorial debut with The Importance of Being Earnest this July. A triple threat: actor, director, and scene-stealer.

Fresh from the London College of Music, Rob has spent recent years terrorising audiences at The London Dungeon and charming them in pantomimes and Theatre in Education tours. His Shakespeare CV already boasts roles in As You Like It, Twelfth Night, and Measure for Measure. As co-Artistic Director of Guilty Applause, he's committed to keeping both new writing and classical theatre alive in the North West. This is his NPC debut.
Join us for a tragedy that reminds us why Shakespeare remains unmatched and why these star-crossed lovers will forever break our hearts.
For never was a story of more woe. See you at the theatre.
